I purchased my first pair of Golden Goose sneakers a few months ago (and shared them first in this post!), and received a number of questions about them since then. So many that I decided it was finally time to do a full write-up! I’ve also broken them in well that I can confidently speak to their craftsmanship, and a number of other aspects about them, which you’ll see me go more into detail about.

Do they fit as expected?
I’d say they fit just right, based on my pair.

How comfy are they?
They felt good right away. I recommend wearing no-shows, especially since they help with airflow. They’re made with real Italian leather, so it’s much more comfortable than breaking in plastic-based shoes. Plus, they’re already softened so your feet just slide in.
How do they perform over time?
Because they already have scuffs, I didn’t worry about wearing them outside. I’ve worn them all over NYC, and I’m impressed with the durability. The laces are intact, and the structure feels strong. Thanks to the vintage look, I don’t really notice if there’s new wear and tear.
Do they feel better than other shoes?
These are the best sneakers I own. I love my Vejas and Tretorns, but Golden Goose still come out on top. They include a built-in arch bump that adds a little height — making your legs look longer. Also, they’re not mass-produced, so each pair is custom-feeling. And the shine on mine? Stunning.
Are they worth it?
Yes! Just try not to pay full price. They’re expensive, so getting them on sale is worth it. I’d pay several hundred for the quality, especially if you find a style that suits you. I chose a loud pair, but a minimalist version would also go with everything.

Do they hold up well?
